PLC (Power line Communication) is generally used in large C&I distributed or utility-scale PV plants. The use of AC cable directly as the communication carrier saves investment in communication cables and construction, and improves the reliability and maintainability of power plant communication, making it a valuable solution for power plant communication. RS485 communication uses serial communication technology, using twisted-pair cable as the communication data carrier to connect third-party devices such as inverters, weather station, and monitoring and control unit of MV transformer station. The use of fiber optic ring network communication is to prevent the network safety hazards caused by the breakage of any connection line in the fiber optic network, which affects the whole PV area of the network, and can prevent a connection from failing and affecting the overall network, so that the network is in redundancy mode. SCB3000 provides 1 PLC communication port, 4 RS485 communication ports and 1 LAN port. The AC cables are connected to the bus bar on the low voltage side of the box transformer and the PLC signals are sampled by the data logger in SCB3000. The RS485 ports can not only communicate with the inverter, but also connect to other third-party devices, such as the box transformer measurement and control device, power meter, environmental monitor and other devices; the LAN port is used to communicate with the SCADA system, power control, power prediction, and other upper computer systems.

The SCB3000A/B has all the features of the SCB3000, and also provides fiber optic ring connect function. SCB3000A provides 1 PLC port, 4 RS485 ports and 1 LAN port. Also provides ring ethernet switch with 2 optical fiber ethernet ports and 6 ethernet ports, one fiber optical fusion box. It is generally used in power plant projects where the PV sub-array has a double-winding transformer and needs to set up a fiber optic ring network.
