The GoodWe GuangDe Industrial Park is the main production base of GoodWe, which includes multiple office buildings, production lines, and employee dormitories. In order to meet the requirements of China's "3060" carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, GoodWe has developed a microgrid solution with multiple functions such as self-consumption, TOU mode, demand management, power limiting mode, backup power mode, debug mode, and remote dispatch.
PV plant
This microgrid integrates PV system, energy storage systems, EV chargers, and adjustable loads. Through the park-level centralized monitoring system, the generation information, energy storage information, load information, and EV charger information of the entire system can be monitored.
Microgrids are a trend in future industrial and commercial development. The demand for power generation, energy storage, and load in microgrids can be self-consistent within the grid, and can meet the needs of the grid when necessary. This not only relieves the pressure on the regional power generation equipment and load on the grid but also supports the grid, making it very friendly to the grid.
Several operating modes introduction:
1. TOU mode:
In this mode, the centralized monitoring system will charge the battery during off-peak periods until the price rises or the battery is full. During peak periods, the system will discharge at maximum power (without considering anti-reverse) or at the maximum allowed power (in the case of anti-reverse).
2. Demand management:
In this mode, the centralized monitoring system will discharge the energy storage system to control the power below the demand when the actual power approaches or exceeds the demand set by the customer.
3. Self consumption mode:
When the generated power is higher than the load, the PV power will be prioritized to supply the load and the excess power will be used to charge the battery. When the energy storage system is full, the PV system will enter the limited power mode. When the PV power is less than the load power, the PV system and energy storage system will work together to supply the load. When PV power is not sufficient and battery comes be fully discharged, the load power will be provided by the grid.
4. Remote dispatch mode:
In this mode, the centralized monitoring system will upload the collected site information to the grid dispatch center and participate in market trading. When there is a valuable service demand, the system will automatically apply to participate in the service and obtain revenue.
